GE has launched a second, slightly cheaper, combo unit

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

GE slightly less expensive full-size combo

There's not much difference the biggest difference is it comes in white for people who don't want the dark colored machine there's really no capacity difference. It's the same tub. They're just trying to claim the other ones a tiny bit bigger.

There are a few less feature options

GE is still the best performing of the full size combos available. I hope there are other competitors soon to keep in mind that GE is a full 28 inches wide, which is unusual for full-size laundry appliances as most are 27 GE separate washers and dryers are also 28 inches wide in the front loading series.

The GE is also taller than the LG and Samsung competitors but it dries much quicker due to. It's more powerful heat pump. It's also nice that it's taller because the controls are closer to eye level and easier to use if you have the space for it.

Alexander, in the user manual there's a model PFQ83HS.. that has cycles for Steam Towels, Steam Normal, aned Steam Whites. Manual says steam is added after the main wash. It may be like my old Duet that added steam to the detergent saturated load after the wash water is drained but still saturated.

I read that. However, there's that Oxi Sanitize cycle again, along with the Extra Hot setting that uses plain hot tap water. No mention of a booster.

It is confusing.

Well, there was a vented dryer way back in the day with a bag to capture lint. When Dyson had its washer on the market, some speculated about a dryer with cyclonic lint collection. Until then, lint can always pose an issue either in disassemble-to-clean heat pump dryers or potentially-burn-your-house-down vented dryers.

"I wouldn't touch one of these with a 10 foot pole until they come up with 99.9% sealed lint and dust capture."

I would want a current generation one with a self cleaning heat exchanger. Although I'm sure they'll still get clogged with lint and need stripping down eventually.

As an owner of a potentially-burn-your-house-down vented dryer, that was subject to a fire safety recall, I did think about getting a heat pump dryer instead of opting for the mods, as it should be much less of a fire risk, but then the more efficient modern heat pumps use potentially blow-your-house-up refrigerant gases (propane and isobutane). :o)
