I'm ordering a lower oven element for my 56 Liberator and would like to add an 8" coil for the stovetop as well. My front element sits lower than the others, always has since I bought it years ago, just never use it.

Can someone let me know the appropriate part numbers for both the 6" and the 8" elements?

Thanks much,

Hello Ron -

When you say add a 8" element - you mean you just need to replace one of the existing 8" elements correct?

I believe the standard 8" element for GE pre-1961 Ranges is WB30X354. The 6" I believe is WB30X356 (assuming you aren't replacing the automatic calrod). Both are still available from GE I believe.

These are the older types that have the non-removable trim ring directly attached to the element assembly and would have been the originals on your range. They do sit lower than the post-1961 tilt-lock elements which have a separate trim ring. If the others on your range sit higher those may have been replaced with the later tilt-lock elements.

Good luck and let us know how it goes and share a picture of your range when you get a chance

Yes, just one coil sits lower and I wanted to replace it. It does appear that it sits lower due to a trim ring...the one I'm replacing doesn't have one. The others, I'll have to check when I get home.
