Over the Christmas holidays (yes I am just now getting the pics off my BF's file) we spent time at my parents house in Richmond, VA. I really like their kitchen and thought I would share it with you. This is their retirement home that they moved into in July 2007. Here is the refrigerator, a 48 inch unit

Dishwasher

Here is the Dishwasher. This machine holds alot and does a pretty good job. I have no idea who makes this for them, or if they make it themselves. It has a light inside which surprisingly offers some benefit. It is very quiet, as quiet as my Miele.

cooktop and ovens

Here is the cooktop which is totally smooth. I also like the integrated vent. The oven is convection and takes forever to preheat and the top oven is a convection, microwave, and advantium speed cook model. I am the only one who has ever used the Advantium feature. It was purchased purely for its aesthetics.

Beautiful kitchen. Is that a built in coffee machine on the backsplash left of the fridge?

Pete, yes that is a Lance-Larkin built-in Coffee system. It works well, it is connected to a water supply so all you do is add the coffee. It is timed if you want coffee waiting in the morning. I have the Miele coffee system at home and in the lab and love it. It does require more routine cleaning and a twice weekly water refill for one coffee drinker.

Chuck You are So Right

Wow I guess all parents are pretty much the same. I heard that throughout my childhood.. Interestingly as my parents have aged nothing seens to bother them any more.
