I have a GE P7 that came with my home. It is tagged GE P7 Model J349d2WH SN FDZ12876.

It is not reaching the proper temperatures inside. the elements are intact. I believe it is the thermostat for regulating temperature but no idea. the temp probe is about 3 inches in length from the oven wall. It is connected in the back with wire nuts (no plastic quick connects).

Any idea what year my stove is?
and any idea what the part # is? where I can buy it?

second,
the rear double element large burner was bad, I replaced with a new one but it overheats and bends so id imagine there are variations on these too. Any idea how to / where to obtain proper equipment?

Thanks for your help!

Randy

Did you miss my reply to your first post three days ago with the same questions in the following thread?

Sorry double posted

Hi Ken,

I did find it almost immediately after reposting. I tried to reply to this with an apology that you had replied earlier and that I'm a bonehead. I couldn't find my original post and thought I had made a mistake. Then I found it. Anyway I appreciate your help both times and again I apologize to all for double posting. I'm not great at this forum stuff.

No problem. Just wanted you to know I had replied. Hope someone else here can shed some light on the problems I couldn't fully address.

GE P-7 Range Problems

If the ST element can boil water at all the sensor is likley OK, you can easily check for proper resistance at the control from the rear of the range. The resistance should be about 17.5 Ohms, the oven sensor can also be checked at the same time from the rear of the range, it also is 17.5 Ohms.

Both the oven and the STE can be recalibrated easily. But remember on the STE you need a flat pan that touches both the element and sensor evenly, other wise the performance will be not as expected.
