Repaint?

These are very cool, there are a few in our club... But to my recollection, they all came in turquoise... so cover your ears Paul (turquoisedude), but I think someone changed this cart's coat and covered its original turquoise!

I saw one of these "Partio Carts" at John's (Combo52) warehouse/museum years ago. I've always felt leery of something electric for use outside. Still a very interesting appliance.

When I saw this on ebay I wondered how long it would take before it popped up on here. I know myself well enough to realize that if I bought one of these in new or like-new condition I would never use the charcoal grill. It would never look the same again. I wouldn't use it if it were gas either. I suppose barbecuing a steak on the Weber and then transferring it to the patio cart while your guests aren't looking would be ok...provided you place it on aluminum foil. I'm sure there's a medical term for people like me.

GEs Partio Carts

Are a wonderful appliance, take it from the only AW member that owns two of them, If you could afford the over $500 these cost in the early 60s have an outlet installed for less than $100 would not have stopped many people.

Overall it is probably far safer to use this appliance outdoors than a propane grill., I have used ours even during a down poor.

This is differently the ultramodern MC way to entertain outdoors. I would also guess that this one was repainted, it does look good in black but they should have painted the wheels as well.

$500 is not a bad price at all.

Hmmmmm

Now when you click on the link it takes you to a page stating the item has been removed.

Did somebody here cave in?

Weird.  The link in the OP still tells me the item has been removed, but the new links work.

That's more like it.  Zero bids.
