Barry -

Thanks for the brochure scan. It seems my family has had a bunch of the machines on this list. My first dishwasher was a 2200G, which I thought was most cool. I had that only two years before moving, but later got a 2200L and now have a 2200G, which I ran three times in 24 hours on 12/23 and 12/24.

My Mom had a 900G, from early 1987 until late 2004, and it was used between 4-times weekly and daily during that 17.5 year period. Guite a durable, and very satisfactory machine. One of our neighbors had a 2800G which seems to have lasted equally as long.

I saw a number of 600Gs used as builder's supplied machines in homes in the late 80s, early 90s.

I like these machines!

As long as we are talking about Potscrubbers....

We once had a neighbor about 4 houses ago that had an old Whirlpool DW. The kind that had the utensil basket in the door. She always referred to it as her "Potscrubber" dishwasher. I explained to her once that Potscrubber is a GE brand and hers is a Whirlpool. She absolutely insisted that her DW was a Potscrubber because all her pots came out so clean. She even went as far as to claim it had a "Potscrubber button on it". I never saw such a thing on it myself.

Why do I always seem to have at least 1 nutty neighbor?

Launderess!

Something tells me your thinking of this one: Complete with "Sani Rinse," LCD Display and nothing else really, it is the true TOL model. Though the 2500 is pretty close (Dare I say it?). I believe roto204 wrote an article about his one.

I'm not sure... Perhaps your local Craigslist?

Or your local AutomaticWash.org Vintage Appliance Dealer. Don't walk, RUN there TODAY for the best appliances deals out!

Rinsing dishes prior to washing

We went to my cousin's house at Thanksgiving. Their glassware is all in ruin due to pre-rinsing. Their glasses look like they have dried milk in them. Her husband is a "loud mouth demanding know-it-all" stay at home husband. They fed about about 20 people on TG day. After we ate he soaked all the dishes in hot soapy water then loaded them into a power clean Whirlpool DW. I noticed that the detergent has literally eaten the coating right off the racks. I started to mention to him they will be replacing this DW soon if he continued to pre-rinse. But Mr. know-it-all would not have listened! This DW is less then 8 years old.

GE potscrubber

I remember one time, I was at my dad's workplace which had a GE dishwasher. It had a dial and a switch for heat dry. That dishwasher was loud due to that motor. I had a Kenmore dishwasher at my dad's hous similar to that one, except it hat 4 buttons: 2 for pots and pans and normal and 2 for heat dry on/off. I never, ever prerinse anything - just put everything dirty into that dishwasher no matter how dirty they are.
