I'm wondering if anyone knows the model year and any other info for the range shown below. This is not a dream range for me, but I am fed up to the teeth with the BOL range that came with the house. I will have a hellacious time finding transport, but the BOL has GOT. TO. GO.

This one appears to be middle-MOL; it has P*7 self-cleaning, the two large/two small burner configuration I prefer, and an oven door window, so those things are to the good. No lighted control panel, though.

I have an email in to the seller about the color - can't make up my mind from the photo if it's White or Almond. Needs to be White.

Any info would be appreciated.

Sandy,

This one appears to match one from my 1989 catalog; JBP26F.  Description:  Two 8" and two 6" plug-in CALROD surface heating units; Removable porcelain enamel drip pans; Oven door with window; Clock and timer; Automatic oven timer.  This is a P-7 model.

There is a similar model in the 1988 catalog; JBP26J.

If you've really been looking for a while with limited success, you might not rule it out because of the color.  My experience has been when the color is 'off' and I can't tell almond vs. white, it invariably turns out to be almond.

First, thanks for the info; that makes it more recent than I imagined.

HowEVAH, Almond would be a deal-breaker. You're quite right that difficult-to-interpret color usually means Almond, though.

I am still waiting to hear back from the seller, and I'm hoping that just this once, the muddy color turns out to be White. I am having fantasies about taking a four-pound sledgehammer to the BOL range presently in the kitchen.

P.S.: "Limited success" does not begin to describe the dearth of GE ranges here. There would be more of them around if they were outlawed.

The odds are good that it's the JBP26J, as that model number shows up in several catalogs (mid-to-late-80's).  Don't forget, America was still almond-crazy at that time (I can't honestly say that I EVER embraced almond).

Good luck with the range!

This range is great! The only downside is no oven window. However, being that as it may, the see through models had asbestos lining in a shield you had to pull located in between the double paned glass. By the time this model was introduced, they may have already done away with that. Not only do you get the two and two burners, you also get the great feature of an automatic oven! You can set the cooking hours and the start time. Set the temperature and you're all set. Great find!
