Hello everyone,
I have a GE Roaster that stopped working a few months ago: the roaster will not heat up as a result of a broken heating element. I have tried looking for one but have not been able to find a replacement! Any idea of where I can find a replacement?
Thanks,

What you would have to do is find the wattage of the oven on the product label located somewhere on the oven then buy a 120 volt open coil heating element of that wattage and stretch it to fit the oven heater's configuration, BUT I will warn you that these appliances were insulated with ASBESTOS, so you might not want to go into it and risk the exposure.

How old is your roaster?  Is the heating element accessible?

I have a post-war model that had a break in the nichrome element.  I did exhaustive searching and concluded that replacement elements simply don't exist.  I repaired mine using brass wire, some borax paste, and a blow torch.

Asbestos isn't dangerous until you start ripping it apart.

Here's a link to the thread that contains information about my repair.  You'll have to scroll down a ways.  Unfortunately, because it was in the "Super" forum, the pictures aren't displaying anymore.  I can post pictures for you if you're interested in making this repair.
