D'uh!  Actually, this find is unusual in that the dryer is newer than the washer.  Normally it's the other way around.

 

The console on the washer was last used on the 1972 models; however, the data plate in the photograph shows the Serial number starts with "DP" (if I'm reading it correctly) and according to the GE website, that makes this washer manufactured in February of 1973.  Hmmm.....
