Ge stove and double oven

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Our friends had this type of GE pushbutton cooktop with just the single wall oven like the top one pictured in the link, but they had the coppertone version.  I see that this is for sale in Wauwautosa which leads me to believe that this comes from a 1950's era home.  The suburbs to the west, north, and south of Metro Milwaukee really came into being during this time.  Alot of nice subdivisions were created during this time, and now most of the original owners are dying off, and/or downsizing to apartments or assisted living facilities.  I'm sure there are many renovations that are/will be happening that we'll never know about because the new owners will just junk the stuff.

GE completely restyled their built-in oven line in '59, and these are the first version thereof. Note that the window glass is smaller than the later version that came out around '62.

They must not have had a double oven model available yet, as the ones shown are two separate single ovens stacked; just like in June Cleaver's kitchen in their new house on "Leave it to Beaver".

My mom's cousin Marie had this oven in Woodtone Brown.

Very interesting...I had brought home the double oven version of this model (in white) with the smaller window in the top door, so GE must have gotten with it before the '62's came out. Unfortunately, just about every wire had been hacked off the control panel in some kind of attempt at removing the unit from the original installation, and then there was the cracked timer glass... Saved some parts and away she went.

The cabinets almost look like a formica finish in "limed oak". -Cory
