Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Something is wrong with this picture.

Once, and only once. I had such machine set for the Mini-basket (tiny amount of water) for a full load. I heard it struggling all the way from the shower, water running.

GadgetGary came to the resuce and reset the water level to full where it needed to be. In my case it was an ID-TEN-T operator error (Id10t operator).

I'm with the others. Methinks the agitator came up from the drive-shaft and caught the shirt underneath, or the shirt was of questionable quuality/construction.

Ok, Ok...

I'll take the shirt back to Nordstroms, and excepts for my brief daily use of my Frigidaire 1-18 (for about 1 month I had it in the house, otherwise it's in the garage. The BF says "it's too noisy".. I say "you're too noisy... Does that mean I get to put you in that garage too?!" He didn't answer me ;)

I have always used a front loader and you can wash ANYTHING in those (Jeans and whatever else you want)and they come out absolutely perfect. But in all fairness, I did wash this same type of load, even bigger, in the 1-18 and the shirt came out fine.

But this is just a lesson learned and just goes to show (me) what I have been saying for years, front loaders are best for cleaning and wear and tear on the your clothes.

I went to Best Buy yesterday, returned the LG's I bought two weeks ago that I didn't like and bought the Frigidaire Affinity set.

So we are done with the GE's if anyone is interested in them and you're in the Sacramento area, let me know. I don't think I'll be keeping these as part of my "collection" (small as it may be!). I guess it's back to Junior Collector status for me!

Thanks for all fun, the tips and help everyone! -James

When I was in college, my mother bought me a new shirt. She washed it in the GE FilterFlo we had at the time. Well, it tore an arm off of the shirt, completely!
But after it all came out of the dryer, we examined the shirt and found that the GE did tear it apart, it was not properly sewn on to the shirt in the first place! (No tears, the stitching that held the arm onto the shirt was gone, like it had never been there in the first place!)
She took the shirt back and got a refund, and I chided her for years about buying me cheap shirts! (Actually, I had to buy my own after this!)
