....That's a beauty. It's the TOL model made just before the J 757 I'd love to have someday.
The feature set was full-house luxury - P*7 self-cleaning, Sensi-Temp, electric meat thermometer, fluorescent cooktop light, automatic oven control, timed convenience outlet, windowed oven door, deluxe oven racks and rotisserie.
The only problem with these was the PyroKitty™ pushbuttons at the sides of the cooktop; kee-cats are said to have burned down more than one midcentury manse by doing the boogaloo on them.
GE later moved all controls to the backguard for the J 757, as seen in the photo below. It not only improved safety, it would have been a huge increase in cleanability. I cannot imagine some Southern cooks of my acquaintance being happy about having to keep the PyroKitty™ buttons free of fried chicken grease.
