One of my oldest sister's boyfriends moved into an apartment in the early 1970s, the apartment complex was bu9ilt in early 1960s, like 62 or 63. He haed a turquoise kitchen with that same dishwasher. How can one forget that dial with the pie-shaped colors on the front of the dial. I helpoed him move by unpacking all his kitchenware and running it through the dishwasher. Had a HUGE crush on him.
It's lovely but overpriced. No rinse agent dispenser and no Power Shower, in other words, a BOL. We had one like this and I can't remember much about its performance except that the top rack never made any sense at all... very little rhyme and reason to the arrangement of the pins and troughs and apparently the first iterations of these racks caused a lot of stemware to break as the glass bases struck the inside of the tub when the user pushed the rack inside. Later on they lengthened the pins on the side to keep the tall glasses from hitting the tank. Seems to me that GE really dumbed-down their dishwasher line when they abandoned the top loaders for the front loaders. At that point the consumer consensus was that the front loaders were easier to load and unload. Not enough of a difference to throw out the exceptional baby with its bassinet, IMHO.

....To the dishwasher my sainted grandmother had for many years, right down to the color.
She never had a problem with it, but then she grew up on a farm, and when she was married, it was forty-three years before she got the house that contained the yellow BOL GE.
If it had any quirks, I never heard a peep out of her about them. She was pretty grateful to be relieved of the chore at last.
