I have to say a big thank you, Robert, for the GE washer/dryer combo manual in the Automatic Ephemera section today! I do have a paper copy of this manual, but having this high-quality scan at my fingertips to download and preserve is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for posting this!!

I hope to have some interesting posts in early September related to a certain 1956 turquoise model that is being under-utilized at the moment... Stay tuned...

Wow!  This is something I had better jump on too... as I also have a GE combo (though it is 5 years newer).

Very cool!

Robert, are you posting 2 or 3 or 4 different items each day?   I'm sure Vacuumland has this too, but it seems like I can look one day, then check back a day or two later and there are more than a few new ones listed.

Glad you like it guys, its a great manual to have. It came from Jetcone Jon's collection when we were visiting him a few weeks ago.

Hi Kevin, yes I've been posting on average of about four things a day. I probably won't be able to keep up this pace for much longer, but for now that's what I've been doing to get a good collection into Automatic Ephemera.

Oh OK thanks, that makes sense!   I would look and say "Wait, I don't remember seeing that one featured yesterday...." haha

Thank you for all of your efforts with this Robert and everything you've reated, it's a really awesome thing you've got here!

Of course AW, but also Automatic Ephemera!

When GE went from the tranmission model to the variable sheave pulley speed changer, the number of vanes in the tub was increased from 4 to 6 and the water heating option was discontinued. Also, the models with the tranny spun between the water changes, but the later models without the tranny only spun after the final rinse. Close to that time, IIRC, the buttons for the drying heat were added. Previously, the drying cycle setting on the dry dial (Delicate or Normal) selected the heat and determined whether the drying started with both heating elements (Normal) or just one (Delicate). That Normal drying cycle is fierce with those Calrods glowing orange.
