I Wouldn't Be Too Upset, Hans:

Because this one isn't really perfect.

Perfect is P*7 self-cleaning. And it's perfect because P*7 gives you more than just self-cleaning capability. GE designed the P*7 system in such a way that you get superior baking performance. The oven holds temperatures better due to heavier insulation. It holds them more evenly due to a superior thermostat system. It's even cheaper to use a P*7 oven for baking than it is a conventional oven.

The first ten years of GE P*7 ranges were the heaviest, most solidly-engineered, most reliable and best-performing ranges on the market. GE's non-P*7 offerings were damned good ranges, but the P*7 models were superb.

You really will like a 40-inch P*7 range, and you have the luxury of time to search. The Norge is still working and you have at least one other range (the green Frigidaire) that you could use temporarily if you had to.

Take your time, and what you really need will turn up.

LOL...After this weekend at work..

Its a wonder I have a brain at all!!..The P-7 oven is not a deal breaker, although I think I would like one, I just like the style of the 62-early 70s ranges.

Hans:

Here's a later range with much the same features, but with P*7 added. It's not a TOL range like I think you'd enjoy Hell out of, but still very nicely featured.
