That sounds like an Imperial or Custom Imperial FRIGIDAIRE Dishmobile. The front of the lid was angled lower than the back to make it easier to load and unload dishes and flatware into and out of the lower rack. The lid had armitures on it to raise the front of the upper rack upward to give full access to the lower rack. They had what was known then as Super-Surge washing action.7 levels of hot rapidly forced jet sprays that (if you hit the sanitize button)would heat the wash and final rinse water to either 150 or 160 degrees Ferenheit. It also had 7 pushbuttons for cycle selection and to cancel and drain, and lited squares that said wash, sani or 150 or 160(depending on whether it was a FRIGIDAIRE or Montgomery Ward Signature made by FRIGIDAIRE),rinse, and dry.I had the convertible version of it that was front loading. It was not as nice and its inner door frame consistantly warped and needed replacement. As far as the performance was otherwise,it rocked! It also had the 7 bladed, stainless steel pulverizer that was pretty good at grinding up the food particles. The wash arm had a seperate wash arm attached to one side of it that would revolve on its own as the arm it was on revolved. Both would spray torrents of hot water onto the dishes, pots and pans, flatware and utensels. It also had a tower connected to the center of the sprayarm with perferations on all sides as well as the top. That would spray strong jets up to the top and out through the sides to get dishes and glassware clean and rinsed thoroughly. To this day, I can still remember the pattern of the sprays I could hear as the cycle continued.I only wish they'd made it with a see through door or lid!I also remember the advancing of the timer as the cycle progressed or when I would hit cancel and drain.
