This was always an exciting time when the Christmas catalogues started coming in and you'd go thru them for hours trying to figure out what you wanted. Unfortunately the catalogue is too big for me to post all the toys so I just had to pick numerous I thought people might remember. Yes Kevin, some of yours are here too. I'll prolly be slapped for taking so much space but it is Christmas.. LOL

Firstly you pick a tree, we had real tree's up until the 70's when the folks finally got a fake one although I did take one of the aluminum ones from the school my mom taught at and put it in the basement rec room.

But what about the budding Poindexter, he had his page as well.
The steam engines on the bottom of the page were way cool and didn't ruin your reputation, I had one, it was great fun till it blew up.. Look how cheap they are then.. those things cost about $200 now, imported from Germany. And the little attachments on the side go for about $50 each.

Now these I liked, guns and walkie talkies more than the EZ bake ovens and I still do like shooting cans and stuff off the fence posts. Never gave me the urge to shoot anyone though like they say it does. Mostly around here only the newly arrived immigrants from far away places shoot people with guns. Funny how that works.

As I mentioned above how much fun I had and still do playing with guns I never had the slightest interest in G.I. Joe though many of my friends did and I was the one that turned out queer. It's a topsy turvy world I guess LOL

I loved my Motorific. I pleaded for the largest layout which was the Detroit or Indy something or other at the time and Santa brought it for me. I still have the track back home, but don't know where my nephew put the cars.

Another toy I had was this Trik Trak. I don't have that fond a memories of it probably because the car was a bit cheesy looking and back then the non alkaline batteries didn't last very long in it so it pooped out and you put it away.
No I didn't get all these things for Christmas, I can't remember what I got in 65

Now before anyone goes saying I was a spoiled brat like my dad always said.. I wasn't and my mom will confirm it. We didn't get much throughout the year, a little something on our birthdays, but we pretty much always got the one thing what we wanted for Christmas, so there. (raspberry) how do you type a raspberry? LOL
