Gilson Snow Bird...Gas wringer washer?

I found this ad in amy local kijiji. Does this mean it's powered with gas? I see the flexable gas tube to it.

Anyone heard of these, or have more information?

Hmmm...

That looks pretty neat! I saw a Briggs and Stratton tag, so I guess that a gasoline engine once drove this baby! Maytag used to make gasoline-driven washers once upon a time, and I recall seeing in a National Geographic article about James Bay (from the late 60s or early 70s) there was a photo of a family using a Thor gasoline washer.
The machine looks like it never got used - might be a piece of historical value; I will bet that company in Guelph is under the rubble of Eaton Centre parking lot...

A lot of Amish will power their "newer" Maytag wringer washers with a gas engine. They use a flexible driveshaft from the engine to do it.
