Hello all. First my apologies to your webmaster Robert for me joining your forum for the purpose of getting rid of a washer. I'm not selling I'm giving away, not sure that makes it any better.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio model WTW5700XWO serial CO290553 that I am giving away. I'm sure you all know its a fairly new model. Nothing is wrong with the machine other than its HE quirks. No need to explain that to you all. I have a front load washer in the basement and soon a whirlpool TL in my first floor laundry. The machine is now in my basement, if interested you will need to bring it up from there, you need 2 people.

agreed i wonder wat language the washers software is coded in since you can order the older cabrio's agitator and just reprogram the water level sensor so that it fills more would be a perfect machine ...... pic of agitator below

if the it can be recoded it would make a cool non he washer

No one is interested?

I wish someone would take this machine. Its a fun washer to play with. I also have an extra, (not sure what you call it) lid lock? When I got the machine the glass had a scratch, so they gave me a new lid. So I removed the switch thing. You can watch it with the lid open. I can sweeten the deal with an Avanti model W798SS.Also free. The Avanti is what I am using right now. Anyone?
 
You fly 747s? Fascinating. I watched Pan Am training flights off Diamond Head, Oahu in the late 60s. I flew Cessnas and Pipers until it got too expensive.

Repost in Super. As I understand, it gets more traffic than Deluxe, even though this would otherwise be the correct forum for a modern washer. Cross posting is discouraged but as you're only trying to find a home for it free I don't think anyone would object.

Unfortunately I don't fly 747's, just in love with commercial aviation, with the 747 being my favorite. Part of my email address has L-1011 in it, another great plane. Thanks again for the advice. Bob
 
lmao if your willing to send it to the Caribbean and pay the shipping fine and wait till i fedex u back your shipping charge no probs lol how come you want to give it away dude ? and question is this model belt drive or F&P direct drive with the motor as the belt drives has issues with water level

Where did I say I was willing to ship it to the Caribbean? I would think you would know if its direct drive or belt, no? And Im giving it away because Im a nice guy. And its an HE washer, I would say most HE washers today have issues with water levels. Dont you think so,dude?

Does anyone know how I can delete this post since Im not an upgraded member? Maybe a contact to Robert? I thought I was doing something nice by giving 2 washers away to people who I thought would appreciate it, instead I have received 2 really nasty emails from people questioning my motive. In the past I have sold several washers and a dishwasher to a member here, all very new appliances and at a price that was pretty much a give away. And trust me, you all know who they are. So right now I feel really hurt. I guess you live and learn that being nice means nothing!
 
Bob, I haven't a clue what the motive might be for nasty emails. What could possibly be the ulterior motive for GIVING AWAY working laundry equipment? If those came from within the membership then I'm embarrassed for the membership.

Yes the Cabrio has issues, hardly any "modern" machine hasn't and it's by no means a secret. How does that plus "free" qualify as ulterior? I just don't get it.

My brother was in school to become a 727 pilot, but the industry changed and the platform was retired from US transport service. He ended up a top-10-market deejay making much more money (until the format changed 3 years ago) but his heart was really in the '27. My heart was in the Ampex ACR25 but that got retired too. :( .

Sorry to hear that you got those nasty e-mails.

You should repost them here with the name of the individuals who did it to shame them. This isn't typical of this community.

I don't care if I get flamed.. Free is free and we should be grateful that you are giving them away. Especially if they work properly.

What an ungrateful bunch surely if someone in good grace offers a machine working or not then it should be accepted as such?

Its a shame you do not have the Freecycle websites we have in the UK an offer like yours would have resulted in a full mail box :)

FYI for those interested, I have picked up both machines from Bob, who happened to be a really nice guy to meet, and who I hope will stay on and join our group....

they are two beautiful machines, in superb shape, and work wonderfully, Bob granted easy access to get them, and his hospitality was to be admired for many of us....

the offset of a few members with their nastygrams leaves little to be desired....and gives a bad reputation to US members and AutomaticWasher....

and makes one wonder, if your that damn paranoid over what anyones intent is when searching out appliances and such....then why would you inquire about it in the first place......best to just stay home, off the phone and the internet.....

it makes you question as to how many new members we would have, and have lost, over nonsense like this....

I asked Bob to take a look around, and stay with our group, even join in a mini-meet here and there, and see for himself, not all of us are like that......ARE WE?

for the most part, I got two great machines, and the best part, a new friend.....priceless!
 
So I was reading

Along this post and as I paged down reading each post, I wouldn't have imagined to read you suddenly had received two nasty emails. You were nothing but kind in your posts....... I've gotten a couple of ODD nasty emails myself in the past and I was blown away at the stupidity of them.

Pay no mind to the ones who felt the need to send you nasy emails. There is no excuse for that. Not everyone on this website is that way TG!

But your machines did go to a very nice person and a good home.

Those are good machines. The first looks to be the belt driven replacement for the direct drive washer. A good machine once you get used to how it works. Bob, thanks for your kind offer and please know that the few wingnuts you got email from do not represent the majority. I sincerely hope you stay and enjoy this wonderful site!

If anything, pass those emails along to Webmaster Robert. He will deal with the issue maybe a little kinder than the waiting mob. Well... Maybe not... LOL!

I have always been a fan of the turboprop airliners that a airline that used to be called Air California flew in the late seventies to early eighties. For some reason, the name of the plane escapes me at the moment. Darn getting old...

You were being very generous and how dare anybody take it as an ulterior motive. People like you do not come often unfortunately. Thank you for the offer to us and forget those nasty people who have nothing better to do than flame over someone doing a kind deed.
 
Forgive me if I am out of line here.....

I am aware of the names of the two persons who sent the emails......amazing, they run their mouths in an email, and cowards to show themselves here, and yet their part of us......this really leaves a bad taste for AWO, and the sad part, we lose good natured members to things like these types of attacks....all too often....and yet the bad apples lose what the true meaning of AutomaticWasher is all about...

for anyone else in the future, take a hint, if your representing AWO in any email or message, keep your NASTY button intact....there can be no reason for needing it, or wanting it around by anyone.....how may times has something like happened, and never mentioned here.....

Idiotic Childish Behavior is all it mounts to....Grow the F**K UP!

Sorry for the rant guys....I have a great respect for the members of AWO, you are some of the greatest people I have come to know, we share ideas, have a few laughs, learn new stuff, and offer advice......its a wonderful place to visit....let's keep it a safe enjoyable place to visit, either in cyberspace, or at a wash-in......the excitement of it all is out of this world.....hate to see it get ruined.....
