Electric model. There's no Push To Start button, always on when timer is set and door is closed. It's not exactly mint, but pretty damn good. If anyone has an owners manual or any knowledge of the overall design era and this model's good and bad points, let me know and thanks in advance.

5 selections here, I'm not sure what "Bulky" does, and haven't gotten into the machine yet to find out how many temp sensors there are for how many real levels of heat. I'm currently guessing it's just Hi and LO, then either timed cycle versus timer--heat type of cycling.

Sorry for bad pics.

pics of the label were bad, model is DIA-62, serial #185A3308.

4.7KW at 120/240 3 wire.

No pics of the drum yet, garage lighting is bad, but it looks bigger than my darn DE606 for sure, not as big as WP/KM

There she sits in the garage. When did everyone switch to a push start button? This one runs as soon as you shut the door. And I don't know yet if there's a drum light.

The plants near the driveway look like hell, it's been a rotten summer of drought and too much heat, stagnant instead of flowing!

Thanks for the pics.

The WIA-62 has a drum light but no ozone lamp. Two heat settings. No end-of-cycle buzzer. I think the first year for the push button "start" switches was 1966 on Frigidaire dryers.

Talk about a blast from the past.

This is very similar to the dryer I grew up with. It was a DG61. The cabinet and door were the same as this one, but the control panel was a simplified lower end version without lights. It's still sitting in my parents garage. I'd love to find the washer that goes with it. Will you be searching for the companion washer for this?

more info

On Ebay I found a 1962 and a 1963 Pocket Trainer brochure, put out by Frigidaire to explain the dryer line to its sales folks. My model is about dead center of the line, plus there's a few Filtrator--No Vent--models. Upscale included an entirely porcelain cabinet, ozone lights, and buzzers. Downscale skipped all the lights and reduced the heats settings and went to strictly a clock timer, and even an all metal top, no porcelain. Once the 2 single page brochures arrive from Ebay, I'll scan and post. I emailed WebMaster Robert about them, but am strongly guessing that only 2 pages would not be enough, at all, for inclusion in the DDD's.

Searching for its mate? If it shows up at a reasonable price, within a 6 hour drive, it would be fantastic. My hobby budget doesn't allow private shipping and $300 machines. So far I do not own any matched sets, not exactly. 1975 Maytag DE606 "matched" with a 1979 A608. And an almond Filter Flo from 77 "matched"with an almond Hotpoint 1983 dryer, pretty close. This white Frigidaire dryer will sit next to a yellow 1975 1-18, no match beyond brand, oh well.  My particular 1-18 is a tempermental machine, I still haven't worked all the bugs out, it's currently apart for pump repairs, but is my favorite.  If I had an upstairs laundry I'd worry more about matched sets, but in my old basement it's all ok as is. And when I get my 1953 Blackstone running, it will be matched to a 1951 Hamilton dryer. Hell, my living room furniture doesn't match any better than that.

Having said that, yes, a Frigidaire 1962 washer would be a great find.

Awesome find ! Where did you find this jewel? The early Frigidaire dryers were really built to last a lifetime...I have a white 1960 Frigidaire Custom Imperial dryer and it is awesome...but the downside is that I have not been able to find the matching washer....believe me I have looked high & low everywhere...I am hopeful that the washer gods will smile down on me someday and one will appear! You were at the right place at the right time!

Craigslist

I found it on the Akron OH craigslist, it was about 8 miles away from me. Seller said he helped his sister move away from Ohio in May, it was in use for at least 30 years in her house, he replaced the belts for her about a year ago. It was plugged in and running when I bought it. I need to make some space in the basement before I bring it in, then more pics as I tear into it, de-lint, etc, see what tuning up it needs for perfect usage. While i wish I had more gas dryers than electric due to energy costs, I can't resist a vintage electric when it shows up. I use the gas ones much more, but just can't turn down a vintage piece simply because it's electric. With 3 gas pipes and 3 electric 240V outlets, I can pick and choose.
