GM Frigidaire Owners - we need YOU! Serial Numbers

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Ben, if you have the chance, I'd like to see which was the oldest 1-18 washer tag (or any post-1970 Frigidaire appliance tag) you had that had a CSA approval. Members who have sent their serial numbers directly to Ben but no picture can look at their tag. The picture that Mike sent in the post above doesn't show one but newer ones do.

As an example, here's one from a post above that has the CSA approval as an example. My 1977 1-18 has it too and so do my two 1978 microwave ovens. I'm wondering if Cory's RCM-9 microwave oven has the CSA approval and refrigerators from other members too. Dryers and Ranges, unless they were originally sold in Canada won't have it. Frigidaire didn't import appliances here for a few years during the 1970s.

Yes, thanks. Frigidaire Imperial Flowing Heat Dryer.
Model # DIAK
Ser# 86SA 9734.

It's not the small screen on your phone preventing you from seeing the numbers, it's the poor photography!

UPDATE -

A HUGE thanks to everyone who has participated so far.  I really appreciate it!

I think I lost a few serial numbers that I had gathered from going through Tech Talks, but most importantly I haven't lost anything that was shared here, or found in the archives of AW.  I'm sitting on about 170 or so serial numbers right now, most of which came from YOU, which is pretty amazing.

In terms of washers, here is what has been collected as of 3/14/2014:

<ul>
<li>1947 - 1950 WJ/WK/WL - 2</li>
<li>1951 - 1954 WO - 8</li>
<li>1955 WV - 0</li>
<li>1956 - 2</li>
<li> 1957 - 5</li>
<li>1958 - 0</li>
<li>1959 - 0</li>
<li>1960 - 2</li>
<li>1961 - 0</li>
<li>1962 - 0</li>
<li>1963 - 2</li>
<li>1964 - 2</li>

<li>1966 K line - 0</li>
<li>1967 L Line - 3</li>

I was telling Phil in a PM that I'd like to find a few 1964-1966 Impact Clutch Rollermatic serial numbers, as well as ANY 1971 S line 1-18 washer serial numbers. If you've got one of those machines, a serial number would be GREATLY appreciated.  Check earlier posts in this thread to better understand the location of the serial number on 1964-1966 washers.

I'll keep bumping this thread every so often, as this project will be an ongoing project, not something that ends anytime soon.

Thanks again everyone!

Ben

Ben, I do know where there is a '65 impact clutch Rollermatic because I rebuilt it and used to have it.  I never got the serial number off of it though.  Message me of you want more info on the owner.

Bill - HUGE thanks for the 1971 1-18 S line serial number. This one clears up a question I had. I can now report confidently on a really cool insight shortly thanks to you.

Jason - thanks for the serial!  I bet that range is stunning.

Joe - feel free to send me a PM.

Glad to help Ben

That particular machine was headed to the crusher.

I rescued it from the local Re-Store. They had it on a pallet
ready to go out the door and I convinced them to sell it to for $20.
It was missing it's spin clutch. A guy I knew at a local parts
dealership GAVE me one he saved from a machine. I owe him.

It does function well but the spin bearing is getting noisy.

Skinny Mini model/serial tag location

Bill (or anyone)....

Where is the model/serial tag located on the Skinny Mini?   I was looking at the one in my garage but was not able to find it.

Granted it's not 100% accessible, I was having to look over and around other machines to access it.

Thanks!

Kevin

I know it's all about the numbers, but that's a nice looking wall unit, PhilR. The photos with the numbers ....perfect for learning and enjoying the scenery.
