depends, we just paid $80 locally for this rare red '61 GE J-304V in nice shape, but really it all comes down on just how much someone wants it and their location. Large appliances are prohibitively expensive to ship for most folks these days, and many sellers tend to have inflated ideas of the value of what to most people are just old obsolete appliances that are hard to get parts for (Frigidaire falls in that category as far as part availability is concerned, while GE parts are plentiful).
is about 1973 to 1975, has ElectriClean, no digital clock, no light (?), 1 - 8" burner, so a mid-ish level model. If close enough I'd be interested... my wife goes absolutely gaga over red appliances for some reason. Here's the more deluxe model with light and digital clock, with matching fridge.
I needed a new stove. I tend to buy most things gently used. I came across this red stove. I liked it. It was local. I didn’t see 500$ for it though. I started doing internet research. I found this page via google. It turned up some old posts here. I decided to create a profile, lie about my location, and that I was selling not buying. I didn’t want one of you guys to swoop in. Well I took what you all said, and found some examples of similar sales. I went and saw the young man. He bought a house, it was in the house. He knew nothing about the range. I produced my research, and as politely as one can, I told him he was crazy to think he’d get 500$ for the range. I offered him 150$(high by my research). He wouldn’t budge. Eventusally he came down 50$. He didn’t even know if it worked. I told him despite that I’d give him 150. No dice. So we shook said thanks and parted ways. So if any of you guys want a poppy red range, check Facebook around augusta GA. I’m no expert,(obviously) but if I had to guess this range has never been used. That’s right, 43 years old and it looked like it just came out of the crate. I dare say, there isn’t a better example anywhere than this one. If your willing to pay 450, or you think you can talk him down, have at it. I am not a collector, I just liked it. But I didn’t 450smackers like it.
Also note his spelling. I knew it would be hard for someone searching Facebook to find it due to that spelling error. But you can see it. If you make a run at it, post about it. If like me you think it’s overpriced, message him and tell him so. Maybe he will lower the price,
Regads
if you'd explained the situation up front expressing a desire for price advice on buying it I believe that folks here would honor that interest rather than try to snipe it.
