So why have you decided to sell it now?? Seems to be such a trendy saying with these older appliances today. I guess it’s their way of trying to sell a 40 year old machine for top dollar. While I agree that it’s good they post it for someone who would appreciate it for what it is I laugh every time I read one of these descriptions.

ultra large drum capacity
My mom had one of these dryers (in Avacado). I don't know what the cubic foot capacity was, seems like it was near 7 cu ft. One of the largest home dryers on the planet, at the time, ha. I think my parents got it in the latter seventies. It is so wide it made the matching straight vane filter-flo look tiny when they were side
by side. It was a wonderful dryer. They never had one problem in nearly twenty years. It was a tad slower than the normal sized FF matching dryers, but the ultra large drum was great for giving laundry room to tumble so it wouldn't wrinkle.[this post was last edited: 10/5/2023-20:51]

That was the dryer that was part of the April 1978 filter flow pair purchased.

They are 8 cubic feet if I remember correctly. Great dryers.
Just a little dishonesty...
The panel advertises "Automatic Sensor Control" which might persuade a buyer to think that there was an Electronic sensor at work.
Do any of you know what was the actual cubic footage of these dryer drums ?
It has been discussed many times on this site that, although the drum was much bigger, the motor and fan were still the standard size and had trouble moving all that extra air.
My parents nearly bought a dryer like this in 1973, but even the dealer dissuaded them from buying it and steered them back to the less expensive standard sized model. Even then they must have had a lot of complaints about the drying speed that was slower than expectations and the standard GE dryer.

Here’s a 1971 ad listing them as 18 pound dryers. I’m sure I’ve read somewhere they were 8 or 8.1 cubic feet.

Reply number six, hi Ken, these actually had a bigger fan GE used two different size blowers in this time. And they always put the bigger one in the large dryer, the large dryer also had a 1/3 hp motor. Where is the standard dryers generally had a quarter horsepower motor, these large dryers also had a much heavier duty belt and idler pulley to handle the extra load.
Of course you don’t need to move any more air. The main purpose of the bigger dryer was to allow more room for the clothing to fluff up and be able to physically dry a larger load
The electric versions had the same heating elements their standard size dryer heads they were limited in the wattage you could have on a 30 amp circuit ,
The early gas versions of this large dryer sometimes had a 30,000 BTU burner so the gas versions were faster than the standard versions. I can’t imagine any reason that even the electric versions that these big dryers were any slower than a standard size GE dryer.

I misspoke in my post. This model was not introduced until 1978, not 1977. And it probably continued through 1980, maybe 1981. I can't verify the stop date.
