I'd guess 1978; my only clue is the cycle-dial graphic. I seem to remember a post with the GE catalog that had a machine that looked like this with the yellowish background on the panel instead of the usual black. I'll look.

Only year of the gold console background. Also only year for the inclined block lettering. Almost identical to the first washer I owned, but mine had a third speed choice - F/F F/S G/S
Would LOVE to get my hands on this one.
I do not remember mine having the straight-vaned agitator, I'm almost positive mine was ramped. Maybe this one has been changed.

Lawrence, my first washer, a GE, also had those 3 speed combinations. And extra rinse option knob next to the water level knob.
I sent them a message, we'll see what transpires.

I remembering seeing the model with the 3 speed combinations. The agitator was straight-vane.

Maybe the gold color panel was a special for the Bicentennial that year.
Someone was supposed to pick it up this morning, the seller would get back to me if they backed out.
