It's a KDS-19
These were very late 70's early 80's machines. They are well made and do a good job cleaning. If you are concerned about drying results use the sani cycle as there is no heated dry.
To know if it is worth going to get we would need to know 1.If it works properly or has issues as not all parts are available. 2. How far are we talking? 3. How much do they want for it.

Rack condition is important. Rusty racks aren't fun to deal with. If your w/h is set high the no heat dry won't be too much of a problem. Mine has heated dry and I still crack the door open and turn a fan on it overnight for completely dry dishes.
yeah, check over all condition, and the racks.....

Looks identical to that horrible Kitchenaid I bought in 1980! Look inside and if it has NO top sprayer for the top rack dishes, RUN AWAY!!!!! You will also find that putting it on "sani heat" will extend your cycle time so long that you will think you have a brand new dishwasher that takes 3 hours to complete a load, but is noisy. I hated that dishwasher with a passion! Got rid of it the very next year too!
This is the first year/model without the Constant Rinse showering down from the top of the tub.

So when did they get wise and put the constant rinse back? I probably wouldn't have hated that dishwasher as much if they had it on that model. Having food particles all over the top rack dishes sort of defeats the purpose. Especially when you aren't supposed to have to pre rinse the dishes. [this post was last edited: 9/23/2017-22:31]
I don't think the 3rd level wash level returned until the 24 series which was when KAs became Whirlpool PowerClean/Kenmore UltraWash clones with SS tubs.

my family had the same exact DW! A lot of people don't like this series because of lack of drying heater! The drying results were good as long as you used the jetdry!
It was a great cleaner but the production was only about 1 1/2 year long! so many complaints cause of the drying! I think they should have made these with a SS tub and maybe with a few more modifications and it probably would have taken off better! people also complained about the long cycle time but that was nothing compaired to todays machines!

If you thought it was a good cleaner it must have been because you pre rinsed everything. I never noticed any problem with drying and I am almost positive that it had a forced air dry too. I know the Maytag RR I bought a year later to replace it certainly did.
