Fun little machine — and in Coppertone, no less! I always wanted one of those, and came close to buying one back in the 1980s. After a quick demonstration, the spinning tub had a major out-of-balance issue. Being in my very early 20s and not sure how to repair such a thing, I didn’t buy it. These don’t turn up often, especially here out West. Hopefully someone will get it and give it the love it deserves!
I did manage to pick this one up. Of course it needs belts and hoses and they seem to be unobtainable.
You’d be surprised how easy it is to find belts and hoses! I have learned that local automotive parts stores are a great source for belts, and hardware/home improvement stores typically have a large selection of hoses/pipes.
Cool cool, so they don't have to be specific Hoover belts, any will do?
I have replaced many hoses and belts on all different makes/models with things I found at auto parts/home improvement stores. I just bring in the old ones and ask them to find something similar and always does the trick!

Had a stash of Hoover TT parts, but sold some off, and others am keeping as back-up spares for my own twin tub.
Offered parts up in the group several times and got most crickets as a response, so put the box away somewhere.
Search fleaPay; you can generally still find Hoover TT belts and maybe some other bits. For some reason OZ tends to have a decent enough supply. UK and Europe OTOH is very hit or miss. Pickings tend to be slim on that side of pond, and what does show up usually is gone rather quickly.
Just a note; for the pump and maybe a few other belts this model of Hoover TT (like my own) needs the stretchy but fuzzy sort. A smooth vacuum cleaner belt usually just won't work. Found this out the hard way when having to replace belts on mine and none of the Hoover vacuum belts would work.

Hello Eric ~ Martin Yogitunes showed me how to make a foolproof belt that has lasted over five years. It was what I kept thinking about regarding your need, but his great fix is for Maytag A 50's. See if he has had any luck fashioning belts for the 'Oovvuh; he's a wiz at belt remedies.
I love the portables and convertible, too. They're so much fun and so versatile. John has a bronze portable TOL Norge decked to the hilt with almost too many switches and dials--ha ha, as if !-- for the narrow panel. In the DC museum, I bet he'd sell it to you.

To keep things in context gave very little for my Hoover TT as well. In fact IIRC it was < $50 or maybe even less than $20 USD. Shipping OTOH (via UPS) came to far more than what one paid for the machine.
Off the bat needed a new pump and some other bits so yes, in end spent far more afterwards than what it cost for machine. But isn't it that always how this hobby of ours goes?
Few if anything arrives totally "plug and play" do they?
The Miele needed new hoses and boot seal.
AEG Lavamat needed hoses, new feet, transportation struts, and other bits.
So there you are then....
By nature if one is going after "vintage" or whatever appliances then it isn't totally unexpected the things are going to want looking after upon arrival. Same can be said for those who collect a vast array of things; from vintage autos to guns.
Happily one did get the Hoover TT while spares were a bit more plentiful and not so dear. Also over years after it arrived have kept eyes peeled for the odd things that pop up.
As one said did offer up things from that box of Hoover spares in one's stash. There was little interest at the time so haven't bothered since. Did sell one or two bits later on (pump and IIRC a hose), but those were to members who needed specific parts for units they recently acquired.

Laundress, yes indeed, no doubt that's the case. My comment was more of an observation. I'm working, by hook and by crook, to get some belts from the UK.

The fix was so long ago that I'd completely forgotten I'd done it. Take the belt to a Pepboys they'll fit or cut you a substitute--it's actually a hollow tube, thus a hose--find a small joiner to connect the two ends of the tube, (found in a Pepboy aisle; it was a small white plastic thing), and super glued it in--I used gel. I THINK.
Anyway, it's been working for years without a hitch, and this winter I gave the A 50 to a friend in dire need. Tried to contact Martin, but he does not display his email. It is a great fix and was really easy. You'll smoke it. But just remembered you're doing a Hoover; this was a Maytag washtub belt.

Forgot to mention
If ordering that Hoover belt (or anything else) from SparestoGo they have a North American/USA site as well which exempts the VAT. Found this out when ordering parts for the AEG and their website came up as a match for part numbers.
Basically UK website determined via my IP address was located in USA and advised switching over to save paying the VAT. Since was using PayPal anyway wasn't worried and things worked out a treat.

He simply gave it to me. Who does that?! Like Ross, the 806 S is miraculous. I have never stopped thanking him. Did you know that the 806 S has an infinite wash cycle? When you set the dial to Suds Return, it will wash forever at any water level. I know of no other automatic washer that can do that--imitate a conventional, er--WRINGER, (smiles). I think the engineers were paying secret homage to the early Maytag Conventionals that do indeed wash forever.
