For someone who put their forum name as speedqueen and who didn't own one but longed for one the day finally came!

After a laundry list of repairs the mixing valve assembly started leaking after having been replaced a few years ago my Dad finally agreed to get rid of the shredmore.

I am just as impressed as I thought I would be. Their is some equipment settling to wait for such as the drum brake to wear in as it has been doing over the past day that I have owned it, what I mean is that the tub has been slowly indexing. It has been slowly getting less as the brake shoes lose their smoothness.

To sum up I am impressed.

Congratulations on the new SQ, it's a fine washer and one that I hope will give you many years of trouble-free clean laundry. Keep us updated on how well you like the new machine and your observations, we'd love to know.

Update

I just realized why it sounded as thought it needed to "wear in", the blasted installers leveled the machine front to back but not side to side. This also caused the tub to slant during agitation. Well now that I re-leveled the machine the tub has stopped indexing and the squeaks have also.

When some people say "don't "stress the small stuff" I know better!

A Bubble Off...........

Front-to-back is easier with the self-adjusting levelers in the rear.

My new Speed Queen installers gave the left-to-right the old college try with their smallish torpedo level. Unfortunately, after they left, none of my Stabila's agreed, so I made the final adjustment, myself.

Good to have more than one quality level to help ensure one of them hasn't drifted.

Welcome to the club. :) You will fall in love with laundry all over again. Had mine for 3 years now as a daily driver and it is impossible to be disappointed. In fact I never have been let down. The machine is just as perfect as the first time I used it.

Yes, This Top Loader Is Perfect........

Couple of decades ago, I may have mentioned something about not drying my jeans in the dryer, due to shrinkage.

Since then, have been doing my own laundry - which actually turned out to be a good thing.

Today, I can actually get away with washing one (1) pair of jeans, by themselves. That's because Speed Queens' generally aren't known for doing the Pookie Dance across the basement floor.

Superior suspension.

One Pair Of Jeans In A TL Washer?

Is a horrible waste of water and energy [ to say nothing of excessive wear and tear on the poor washer ]  Unless you have really big jeans you shroud be able to wash 6-10 pairs in this washer. I always wash this many in our TL washers and I recycle the wash and some rinse water from our SQ FL machine into the TLer to cut down on the wastefulness of using a conventional TL washer.

Pretty sure my dad wanted to live in a world where everyone was just like him. We're not like that.

Acute observations, balanced with subtle humor are lost on some.

Within reason, we try to accept people for who they are.

Thanks for listening, and have a nice day.
