Tide is finally eliminating that whole, Vivid White Saga. That's all out the door now, and there re-labeling there Packaging to say "Plus Bleach" again...

Interesting, huh? My guess is they lost a lot of sales, to confused consumers unable to find there favorite..

Tide+Bleach

Can I ask for some advice.

I buy Tide from the US but I am in the UK.

Does Tide with Bleach contain chlorine bleach, or oxygen based bleach?

Does regular Tide - either liquid or powder, contain any bleach at all, whether oxygen or chlorine?

US detergents are different that UK ones, (e.g. we have regular and then colour care versions) - so I am not 100% on what I am buying when I get a US one, but I LOVE, LOVE the smell of Tide and it cleans great, so do plan to keep buying it.

Any of your knowledge would be appreciated.

Liam

Tide...

Has never contained Chlorine in it's formula. However, both Powdered (Regular) Tide & Bleach Alternative Powder tide do contain Stabilized Hydrogen Peroxide (Sodium Percarbonate) along with multiple, powerful stain fighting enzymes :)

The thing about the Powder Tide varieties, is, they rely heavily off there Activated Oxygen Bleaching System(s) to help clean up, and brighten, without all the harshness & fading caused by traditional Optical Brighteners.

The Liquid Variety on the other hand, have ZERO bleach in there formulas whatsoever (No oxygen, nor Chlorine) and are heavily dependent on Enzymes & OB's. As such, it simply doesn't clean anywhere as good the powder variety, because it's missing a main cleaning ingredient (hydrogen peroxide).

The unfortunate thing is however, even though there Powder cleans so amazingly, there in a race to push it out the door, and replace it with in-effective Liquid & Monodose Products ie. (Tide Pods).

Thank you

Ah right, thanks Mich.

So it seems that the make up of Tide is not too different to our UK ones (except the optical brighteners bit).

Our powder has Oxygen Bleach AND Optical Brighteners, and Enzymes.

Liquids are almost the same EXCEPT no bleach of any kind.

One exception is the Colour Care detergents, whether it be Powder or Liquid, the only thing they have is Enzymes - No Oxy bleach or Optical brighteners.

Thanks for your advice, it is much appreciated - I love Tide, so will keep buying.

Also you're right about them trying to push powder away, there just isn't as much as liquids/pods available - but powders are the best. I've put a link if you're interested, it seems to say powders are, and always will be, the best.

:)
