I Second petek!

My late partner bought a Miele White Star that we eventually sold off, due to the staggering cost of bags and filters.

I think the HEPA filter was like $75, and it needed frequent replacement to be effective.

Too rich for my blood!

The GOOD thing about the Meile and other Filtrete type bags--unlike paper ones-you can pack the Filtrete ones until they are like a brick--not only half full as for paper. For me a pack of Meile bags lasts for over a year-same as for Kirby Filtrete bags.

Nice grab on the Solaris, I had one in yellow and we loved it!  Still have the little toy version that I bought Skyler when he was little - probably more for me than for him, but he did play with it a little ;-)

The Solaris should take the FJM bags as well.

My grandmother had that jumbo Sunbeam, when she dug that out of the pantry you knew there was fried chicken coming for dinner.  I don't know if it could be blamed on the appliance used to cook it, but I hated her fried chicken.  Ick.

Greg - I'm in the same boat.  When my mom would get the large Presto skillet out, I knew it was a fried chicken night.  I still to this day won't eat fried chicken unless it's the only thing to eat.

Hans - Cool finds!!
