I acquired a Gorenje washing machine that is in mint condition but it has an electronic problem which is....

I can press the power button and the light comes on and the soap drawer makes whirring sounds but the door will not open nor will the touchscreen light up.

Being rather naive about these as never had one before I had hoped it may have been as simple as the drum light bulb blown as I know Miele have these and the bulb acts as a fuse but the one in the Gorenje is fine but that does not come on either.

Have I bought a heap of trouble or is it fixable??

Please help

Who'd a thought it ???

I found out why it would not work 2 tracks on a ribbon cable had worn off and as I had absolutely no idea how to fix it I went to our local Maplins who said I could trim off the worn part and refix the cable this I did and to a degree I have done it it flickers at times and I think it may need securing better but thats a job for tomorrow.
Sadly the soap drawer will no longer be able to open itself as a cog has broken off and gone awol so unless a donor machine happens along it will have to be pulled and pushed like any other lol

Ohhhh, good luck with getting this up and running Austin!

Is this the UK's fastest spinning 'preserved' front loader?

Seems I did good as it is still ok

I thought that leaving outside where it was to cool it may have dropped the connections but no it seems ok am just desperate to swop it in and give it a whirl in the meantime I have been exploring the programs and such and it says there is a water clear sensor that I assume is the thing thats in the waste pipe with wires and so forth sticking out as I have never seen anything like it I guessed it must be something to do with how clear the waste is and I assume it can tell how much suds are in the washing !!

Will keep you posted.

Darren are you waiting for the invite in the post???

You know you are welcome anytime to play with the machine its in the house and Miele is in the shed at present and all it took were 3 men 2 bad backs and 1 whole lot of cussin..... lol

Your right about that sensor you have to calibrate it when you first put it in a new location so did that now if you use it if its not clear as you say it adds more rinses and it must have something to do with suds lock as well because I had the bath towels in it and shampoo was on one it frothed like a slush puppy but that machine dealt with it by staying on the wash cycle and it drained and added water until the suds were gone then it just went into its spin before the rinses I am impressed.

I am waiting on the codes to access the service menu then I will know more about this little gem..
