Ok for the moment i can only really review the washer as I am waiting for the Uk instructions and power adapter for the dryer
The machines are from here - http://www.thewashingmachineplace.c...er+&+D72325BK+Dryer+Gorenje+Laundry+Room+Sets so not the most expensive to most people
BUT I am a Yorkshireman so this was a painful amount to spend, for the non-UK readers it is a national stereotype that people from Yorkshire are notoriously tight fisted - the battle cry of a Yorkshireman is "Ow much?!?! you've got to be kidding lad thats outrageous" - basically we will argue over a penny and these machines cost me more than i got in trade in for my previous car so you can imagine how painful it was spending this much
Aesthetics
Yes ok its not a big thing but if like me they are sat in the kitchen then they need to look good, sat next to each other in black the machines may look a bit severe but the control panels are mirror images so they are designed to be close to each other, however in my kitchen a Hotpoint Graphite coloured dishwasher sits between them. The dryer even though it looks like it is in the same chassis as the washer looks shorter and fatter, im guessing that is just down to the solid black door unlike the washer that has a glass door.
In regards to fitting into kitchens the machines look like they will match most kitchen styles, unfortunately my kitchen is from the late 80's so has the old mock style wood cabinets make to look like victorian fittings but the machines still fit and not look out of place
One little niggle is they give you a black washing machine with a black facia BUT the actual drawer is still white, its a little niggle i know
Build quality
Annoyingly the build quality of these machines feels better than the build quality of the car im driving round in while mine is sat in the bodyshop being played with
The doors shut with a nice thud and the dials feel solid. The dryer door is quite a clever thing - no latch to pull on - just push the door and it opens, push it agian to close, it looks like they designed the door for people who have an armful of wet washing
Washing machine details
once the machine was plumbed in I set it on an empty 95degree cycle to clean it out, the waterlevel unloaded came up to the indent in the glass so its not shy of some water, admittedly on a normal cycle when loaded with towels the water was not visible but what do you expect with a full load of towels.
In regards to rinsing from what i have seen it will rinse with high water levels and seems to spin fine - bit of vibration but not enough to annoy me
The machine seems to have some intelligence because when it was unloaded the recirculation pump only runs briefly but when full of towels it ran almost continually
The wash action on normal cycles looks pretty vigorous and on the empty cycle whipped up a heck of a lot of suds from just a small amount of powder
The machine has a 17min cycle and on testing it is a 17min wash cycle (yes i timed it) but i was over-ambitious and tried to use it to freshen up new towel i bought so i had to re-rinse and spin but to freshen up work shirts etc then it would be ideal
Noise
Its reasonably quiet apart from when it is in full speed spin but that is expected, the other noises are the recirculation pump running but that is not loud - just a different noise
Ive not had chance to use it a huge amount and as i said not used the dryer at all as i cant plug it in at the moment but as it hard to find info about Gorenje machines i figured some of you guys may be interested and i will update this thread once i get the dryer running
