I have a wringer washer and the threads are stripped on the cap that holds the agitator down.
If I put a squirt of glue in the cap would it work? It says it sticks to metal and is waterproof.
The thing that worries me is, it says it expands 3-4 times. Not sure what would happen, maybe just ooze out? The agitator is bakelite, would it harm it?

I would not.

There is no known solvent for Gorilla Glue. It can be wonderful, but it has to be used with even more forethought than epoxy or cyanoacrylate (Krazy or Super glue).

It is tough, and it does hold. I had a problem door knob that would not stay on. It does now!!!

My problem with gluing an agitator would be you will never be able to remove it again. I would wonder if there were some way of restoring the threads that wouldn't be so permanent.

Nope!

You have to be able to remove the agitator for cleaning and servicing. If you glue it on, it is the death of the machine. Instead, get a new agitator cap or a substitute bolt and washer.

I used Gorilla glue to add a threshold between a concrete patio and screen door. It worked very well, some did expand and ooze and i covered it up with the "slab" paint. alr2903

I've used it on nuerous things

and it works great, but I wouldn't recommend it for the washer either. I've had it seep out on some projects and I found that the seepage just broke off easily as a big hard glob...
