Got another question - does this belong to a Hoover?

The Hoover has its rubber pusher-downer thingy included but it also had a plastic sleeve looking thing inside it. Since I got the Hoover and a Maytag A50 in the same auction, I am wondering if this thing belongs to the Hoover or the Maytag, or does it belong to some other machine entirely?

Also...I thought there was no lower drive belt, but I plugged the machine in and both the agitator and the rinse drum worked beautifully, with both motors humming sweetly. How can that be? I'm baffled! But thrilled! LOL

That is a shipping ring for the Maytag spinner. Mine came with one, it's wonderful to prevent crooked-spinner syndrome since I use mine right next to never.

It kind of resembles the plastic ring that came in the full sized automatics, I used one last weekend when I picked up an A-606. Best washer tub brace ever.

As you may have read before, I recently acquired a Hoover TT and not one, but two Maytag A50's. (PLUS a matching Maytag DE50 dryer). Oh, and a Simplicity TT as well. Haven't used the Hoover though as it needs a lot of work.
You will have a lot of fun with both of your machines quite I'm sure.

So Guys, is it just my observation, or are these A50's coming out of the closet(s) and sheds at us from all directions lately?
Maybe since I'm a 'newer' collector of these vintage Twin Tubs I'm not as aware of their more recent popularity, but so glad to see them around and being saved.
And typical of Maytag, the little suckers sure we're built to LAST!!!
I think I could throw those little suckers off the balcony and it would still work flawlessly!
Not being a Maytag fan at all these machines have certainly impressed me

Congratulations on your twinny finds, these are great washing machines to use, yes the dark grey is the Hoover Spin Mat, I lost the bet with the white ring, I thought it was some sort of venting connection...

The lower drive belt is probably the pump to empty water, there should be one drive belt and seperate motor for the wash action, another motor and two pulleys, one for the spin can and one to drive the pump...

I also congratulate you on your double twin tub purchase, and hope that the pump on your Hoover is not seized, which is a common problem for these twin tub machines if they don't get used enough. Crossing fingers for you!
