I always let our washer fill and start agitating before I add the detergent. This way the clothes are nice and wet when the detergent hits them.

old skool..
the new speed queens might be the last "old skool"T/L washers
left after the DDS go out of production.
I have two 1984 speed queens and other than the motor and pump
mounting,the new ones appear to retain much of the 1981 design
including the transmission and outer tub-nearly 30yrs old!

it wasn't transmission grease
We found out it wasn't transmission grease or detergent stain, it was either WD-40 or food grease stain on an article of clothing-and I've run it since, not a trace of transmission grease ANYWHERE in the washer or clothes!

congratulation on getting your new washer
almost got off-balance a few days ago
I was washing a load of towels in it a few days ago, medium water level, and on the final spin-drain, the tub shook bigger and bigger-almost to the point of banging against the sides of the cabinet, I shut it off, and sure enough, the load wasn't truely on both sides of the tub-I redistributed the load, and re-started the washer, and it spun as usual.
