I work at sears and sell washers. and just before i was about to close . a lady comes in and she has a 950 dollar credit to get what ever she wants because she had a 1st gen calypso ( the one that had all the issues). so i pull out my palm and show her the pics i downloded from this forum and told her everything i know. now we only have the dryer on the floor. so i Just sold a washer that i dont even have on the floor yet. all because its the biggest washer out . she gets it on the 3rd. its already available and i cant wait to get the real one on the floor cause im showing everyone who is into HE machines. these things are gonna move. Im tellin ya. Oh and the dryer, if you havent seen it is clean lookin. like a dryer in a tux. all the guys ive shown like it alot. and thats different. to hear cause men tend to like the look of frontloaders. but anyway i just wanted to share before i closed the store. ill post everything i find out from my whirlpool rep next time i see him.

What was it you sold her?

I read your post three times and I am still confused as to what you sold her?

You mentioned Oasis in your heading. You mentioned it is the biggest washer out. You also reference your Whirlpool rep. So does Whirlpool now have a washing machine bigger that the Duet called the Oasis? If so, is that a front loader or a top loader?

Any case, we will await more details as soon as you get them.

Frontload, he sold the lady an Oasis. Since this is made by Whirlpool for Sears in Clyde Ohio, that's why he will enjoy talking to the WP rep.

Re: Hi! frigilux and everyone else:

Thank you for remembering me and letting everyone know about my sharing the new Kenmore Elite Oasis Washer and Dryer with you. I think that they are much better looking than the GE Harmony's and hopefully they will at some point of time become one of my {New} Additions to my Collection.

I do seem to tend to like some more newer Deluxe and Super New instead of some of the Vintage for my preference, but I'm also not saying that I don't not like the Vintage Machines at all.

I as with everyone else look forward in hearing those who do make a purchase of these new Kenmore Elite Oasis Washer and Dryer, their performanence and reliability and Washing/Drying ability.

Peace and Happy Kenmore Elite Oasis Days, Steve

The design in intreging

The washer looks kinda like some of the Aussie top loaders I have seen, but you would have thought that they could have come up with a better design for the dryer door. It looks like it was just stuck on there as an afterthought.
Does the bottom plate in the washer spin while squirting water out of the holes in it like a sprinkler? Or does the basket fill up with water like a normal top loader?

Re: Demo of the Oasis Washer:

Hi! kenhe4t why don't you see about contacting the West Coast Sears, since they are the Test Store area, maybe the Guys there know how to access the Demo Mode and will let you know how to do it on your Floor Model, when it arrives. The info of the West Coast Sears Store is:

Sears Roebuck & Co
South San Francisco, CA
1-650-873-2200

Maybe you might share it with the Club Members too!!!

Peace and Good Luck, I hope that this helps, Steve

Calypso Issues

it seems that they had reliability problems with the design. First of all you had the bad control boards, then clothing would get stuck under the plate at the bottom of the tub and screw up the U-joints not to say anything about eating your clothes. Also, users complained of gray streaks on their clothing after they have been laundered. Then some of the washers leaked water, some flooded laundry rooms. These machines were a mess.
OTOH, some people liked them and have experienced no problems at all. It seemed like it was a draw of the cards weather or not you got a good one or a bad one.

Re: Sightings:

Hi! kenhe4t I'm not totally sure about if that particular Store is in fact the one that has the first Set. You might want to research further of the original Thread Posting with the Pix and Info, to find out who it was that saw them and maybe they can Confirm which Sears Store they saw them at.

Good Luck at getting the info your looking for, of the Demo-Mode and of the West Coast Sears Store help as well.

Peace and Fun Laundry Washing by someone in an Oasis, Steve

Just for the record, the pictures came originally from THS, I saved them and put them in the other thread. If you want to read the thread on THS then click on the link.

There are some more threads on THS in which the Oasis is mentioned.
