Grandmommy’s dishwasher has a bad case of rack rot! HELP!

So my Grandma’s Maytag needs both an upper and lower rack as the times are breaking off and everything is all rusty. Anyone have a spare set they’re willing to sell reasonably? Am I better off helping them on the new machine front? It seems a good machine, and other than the rotting racks this one is in excellent shape! The machine she had before this was a KDS-18!!

I may be able to help you:

Let me talk to a friend of mine who is a MT repairman for over 30 years. I know he has tons of racks at his shop for that type of MT, some other parts as well.
You would have to get them shipped from Minneapolis if he has them. I will PM you if he does and we can work things out from there.

Start checking craigslist regularly for a donor machine for free or minimal cost.  That's probably your best bet. 

 

These Maytags do a good job, but they're way too loud for my taste.
