Hi all,

I've mentioned the old Glenwood stove that my grandmother had, which was mine, briefly, when I moved into her apartment after her passing.

The left side of it is a heater, which heats the whole five room apartment.

She always kept it immaculate, and I tried my best when it was in my care.
Now, it's technically my sister's apartment, but she's currently not living there.
So everything is getting kind of neglected.

I thought you might like to see a few pictures.
The one odd knob always bugged me, but we could never find a correct style replacement.

Interesting.  Looks like it's vented because of the heating function.   Guess there would be no closing any doors with a setup like this one.

It's on the third floor of a late 1920s/early 1930s three family house.
The second and third floors heat with these.
The one on the second floor is a significantly newer unit, but still a Glenwood, if memory serves.
My grandmother used to keep a wooden stool next to this one, on the side where the heat comes out.
And when my wife and I lived there, that was her favorite spot in the cold weather months too.

The third floor also had a really nice Warm Morning natural gas space heater in the living room.
But, some time after I moved out, the nanny state of Massachusetts said "no no", and my family had to have the space heater removed.
I'm not sure why it wasn't grandfathered somehow, since it had been there for so long.

John,

There is a stove pipe/flue (chrome?) that comes off the back of the stove and ties into the house's chimney.
I'm guessing it's for the heater, since the space heater that used to be in the living room had the same type of flue.
I'll see if I can get a picture of it when I go over there on Friday.

Hi John,

Not the best pictures, but it was kind of difficult to photograph.
It does seem to come from the back of the part where the heater is.
