Great Bath Towels For Line Driers!

I bought these Whole Home brand towels at Sears last week. Can't find them online, but they are probably still available in stores. The bands at each end of the towel have a criss-cross lattice pattern.

The tag reads 100% Pima Ring Spun Combed Low Twist Cotton Loops. They were on sale (50% off) at $5.99. Bought a dozen.

They line dry just as soft as can be. I've never had a towel come off the line as soft as if it was dried in a dryer. My Sam's Club towels are as rough as sandpaper off the line.

Laundered mine in the Frigidaire TL'er in hot water/cold rinse, using liquid Tide 2X With Color Clean Bleach.

My only caveat is that the towels don't absorb moisture quite as fast as my Sam's Club models.

Interesting, I hardly ever shop at Sears anymore - I may have stop in for a while. I was looking at towel sets at Costco yesterday and was pretty impressed with their Kirkland Signature set - bath, hand and washcloth for $17. I really need to replace most of my towels but can't justify spending a huge amount as I use a fresh towel everyday so they get washed a lot. I want them durable, soft and gooshy - a hard combination to find in a towel for a reasonable price!

I've been impressed with Pima cotton for some time. I think it's superior to the much vaunted Egyptian cotton. Even better is "Supima" which has fiber lengths approaching that of the Egyptian. The sheet sets I have made from Supima seem softer and smoother than those made of Egyptian cotton.

My bath sheet towels are from Costco - made from Egyptian cotton. They tend to be harsh when line dried. I have some other towels, cheaper, that are much softer. I'd check out the ones at Sears but right now I'm kind of overflowing with bath towels so maybe some time later.

I love my Martha Stewart Everyday Towels! I've had the Egyption cotton, and the Pima cotton. Both hold up very well, and line dry fine. Yeah Martha!

I've learned there can be very noticeable differences in the 'feel' of towels, even within the same brand. Whole Home has about 10 different lines of towels at Sears, so I can only speak for this particular one. And in white, at that.

As stated earlier, I've never before seen towels come off the line as soft as if they were mechanically dried. Glad I found them. In fact, I may keep them as 'summer only' towels, and use my Sam's Club stand-by's for dryer season. That way they'll last for years.

NICE GOING! I want some I want some! Since they are so good on the line, I am wondering how they would be out of the dryer.

Hi Togs---They're great out of the dryer. I always use the dryer for the initial laundering, to pull the excess lint off them. There's no discernible difference between line/machine drying.

I'll be doing another load of towels today, so we'll see if being 'soft-off-the-line' was a fluke.

I have noticed, but not really measured, that the softer towels tend to be more linty in the dryer. It may be that the softer feel is a result of shorter fibers, and the terrycloth with shorter fibers will shed lint more and not last as long as the not quite so soft towel with longer fibers.
