I have a job interview on Monday. It is for a housekeeping/laundry position at our Handicapped Developement Center. I'm hoping, actually praying that I can get it. They had a receptionist position open which I applied for, but that has already been filled.

Wish me luck!

I had the interview today, I think it went pretty well. She had a few more applicants to interview, and said she hope to have them all finished by the end of this week or beginning of next week since the new facility will open in March. I actually wore a tie for the first time in about 20+ years. My roommate and friend wanted to take my picture but I refused.

Wishing you the best of luck.

If you applied for one, and get the other; look at it that you got you foot in the door and will be able to move if something becomes available.

I have to share a little story about interviews. Last year I was on an interview team for the position in our unit. We had several, ok 40 applicants which we narrowed to 10 to interview. Of those we ended up with one that we liked--except--he had a nervouse giggle. We were afraid we would kill him. So we pulled five more from the pool and sat up interviews. The first one of that bunch we liked immediately and only went through the other interviews as a formality.

Remember to send your thank you note, and call back in a few days to inquire if a decision was made. This keeps your name in front of the interviewer, and lets them know you are still interested--and don't giggle. :-)
