Can I Speak Greek...

Just a little. Mostly words that don't come up in conversation (learned those from my mom when she got mad), learned the good stuff from my Yia Yia, and the funny stuff from Basile, a greek comedian here in the states. Both parents are Greek. Mom's family from Athens, Dad's from Mytilene. We were over there in 1984 visiting relatives. I absolutely had a great time. What a wonderful country with people that just flat-out love life. I'm proud to say that I'm Greek even though I was born here in America.

~You are cooking up a big pot of Faki for Lent?
Also in the plural as F-AH-K-ES Prounounced f**k-@$$ (lentils).

We kids taught our parents not to say that one in front of our friends! LOL

Beach became pronounced "bitch"
Sheets became "shits"
and cleats.....well just say sneakers, PLEASE!

*LOL*

Hi Johnny. Greetings from Tucson, Arizona. Steve Toggle has visited here and loves it. Just hope all is going well for you in the army. Will wish you a blessed Easter which I think is sometime later in April.

My question is why are you cooking in what is clearly a large top loading washing machine hehe :)

Probably makes a great salad washer and spinner in a large industrial/commerical/institutional setting.

:-)

I only say one top-loader in Greece (back in 1973). It was a General Electric brand. But the owner/user had lived here in the U.S.A. and I'm sure her son [who still lives here] had sent it to her. Those who return to Greece get extremely annoyed that one load of laundry takes "forever" in a front-loader compared to 1/2 an hour in a traditional top-loader!
