Remember this machine? More than a month ago I brought this machine back to life, but had yet to do a water test. I actually had four machines that needed the same water test. I don't always enjoy that - depends on how the results come out, but it takes a certain mood for me, as I have to get hoses rigged etc.

This weekend I tested three of the four machines, with good success. More on the others later perhaps, but here is are a few pics of the beast in action with it's first water in who knows how long, followed by pics of some actual laundry. Gotta love the waterfall filter.

I like this machine so much now that I am thinking it would be cool to have in the house laundry room, so if anyone has a nice matching electric dryer, I'd be interested. Standard or large capcity - it doesn't matter.

Have a good week everyone!

I wish i still had my whirpool with the waterfall lint filter, or any of my other 20 washers lol.
Excellent work.

Great job on the Green Beast Gordon!Always nice to see these old machines saved

Congratulations Gordon on the first washload, signaling official completion of the Green Beast restoration project. The filter looks like it is doing an awesome job right along with the rest of the washer. An ultimate success.

Have a good one,
James

Very nice Gordon!

The "Green Beast" turned out really great! You did an excellent job if nursing it back to health!

And you know it's interesting.... I have this I have this funny feeling there is going to be a "The Green Beast: The Sequel" coming at some point in the not too distant future........ *wink*

Machine looks great! Love those type of Kenmore agi's.

I think I am one of the few on this site that actually likes avocado green. My aunt had a complete avocado kitchen in her house...I thought it was great with her dark wook cabinets

THANKS for all the kind words everyone. This has been an enjoyable washer so far. When Matt first posted it I said to myself immediately "I have to have that, and I wanna keep it".

Bobby in Boston - the agitator is a Straight-Vane actually. This was a BOL to mid-line agitator that is very effective, if not a little ridiculous on low water levels at normal speed. The splashing action of a straight-vane on low water level is like giving a hyper toddler two Red Bulls and a couple of paddles then asking him to go to town in the kiddie pool.
