Thirteen years old.  Bought it 4 years ago via Craigslist ($125 for the pair, have the matching dryer).

The seller probably was a college student.  She apparently had a cat, some hair here/there in the machine and in a layer of muck around top of the outer tub.  General grunginess, plus it sat in my garage for 4 years.  Took several days of soaking to get the residue out of the softener dispenser.

Needed some cabinet, lid, top, and base rusting handled.

The spin tube ears and basket drive block were worn down such that the basket was loose, coasted/clattered when braking.  Also replaced the tub support/centerpost/bearings for good measure.  Sorry, no pics of all that.

Variable water level.  Two ATC temp choices.  2nd rinse option (on Normal) and EOC buzzer.  Three-speed motor with separate speed selector.

Gentle Wash system overrides agitation to Low for the last 4 mins of wash (but not for rinse).  Interestingly, it increases from Ex-Low to Low on the Delicates and Handwash/Wool selections (but stays intermittent for Handwash/Wool).

Super Wash is just 16 mins of wash time, not a soak & partial-drain like the classic Super Wash cycle.

Step Spin on Perm Press overrides to High for the last 2 mins.  (KA stepped-spin on PP for 3-speed machines [some of them anyway] ran 2 mins at each of the three speeds.)

Last pic is a sound insulation panel that mounts under the base.  KA also had it on select models.

I ran a load on the Casual/Permanent Press cycle this afternoon.  Curious as to what is the designated Cool Down sequence ... a partial drain and refill/agitate or not.  Not.  It's a post-wash full drain and spin with two sprays, as compared to the Normal cycle which doesn't have sprays.

Last several minutes of the wash period overrides the speed selection to Ex Low.  I didn't time it but seems the 6-min mark gives ~one minute of agitation at the selected speed then shifts to Ex Low.

First spin is at the selection, so High is allowed.

Rinse agitation is at the selection, so High is allowed.

Final spin begins at the selection, so High is allowed.  Has two sprays.  Last minute overrides the speed to High.

The designated Casual/P. Press speed selection gives wash of High / Ex Low, cool down spin of Low, rinse agitation of High, final spin of Low / High.

A bit tricky to get a clear grasp on it but the timer seems to advance continuously, not in increments.

Bedding -- synthetic/cotton quilted bedspread, set of twin sheets with five pillow cases.  Normal cycle, 14 mins wash time.  Low agitation speed (medium motor speed).  Super Plus (maximum) water level.  4 tbsp STPP, 1 cup Foca powder.

if I am correct, those timers also allowed you to turn them in both directions...sometimes came in handy, as in running the same cycle over and over...

interesting cycle sequences from model to model through out the years....

Yes, the "embedding" option was disabled.  It would open and play via YouTube's site by clicking the YouTube icon at the lower right as Yogi advised, or by clicking the title at the upper left (and still will do that now).

Washman, how much more movement is needed?  The entire load rolls over for exposure to the cleaning-zone down at the agitator fins.  I don't think the aggregate effect would be improved if rollover was faster.  The items spend some time in the zone and move on vs. passing through repeatedly for a few seconds.  High agitation speed is available if desired but then it'd get bashed for shredding ... so, what, can't win with this one?

The machine really is nicely quiet.

Fun how the intermittent-agitation cam clicks repeatedly similar to an old-style timer advancing.

I really like your washer collection. Do you still have the Calypso? I think the agitation speed is more than adequate to clean really well on the Gold series. I was wondering how well the Foca rinsed out, haven't tried that detergent yet. I'm trying to stay with something that doesn't break me out and rinses well and doesn't fade the clothing.

It really is quiet. I could live with it.

I've posted the rollover question before... How much is enough? I would want the load to make a complete turnover in under 2 minutes for rinse cycle coverage. But is that an adequate target?

Rinse on Normal is 4 mins of agitation.  I haven't tried the Extra Rinse option but it presumably also is 4 mins of agitation, the timer segment is the same length as the first rinse.

Casual/Perm Press is 2 mins rinse agitation.

I recall someone long ago complained that high agitation may be too aggressive but low causes rollover to essentially stop on a large load.  IIRC the comment at the time was in reference to shifting from high to low speed at the last few mins of wash on direct-drive machines with said feature.  One reason I made the clip is to show that there is (or can be) rollover with a large load at low agitation speed.  Of course it's slower ... isn't that the point of low agitation?  There's also the Ex Low speed choice on this machine, being a 3-speeder.

Maybe I'll do a video showing high-speed agitation on this load when running it at a future date.

I'm trying to stay with something that doesn't break me out and rinses well and doesn't fade the clothing.</blockquote> Ooops, sorry again.  Foca rinses surprisingly well for me considering that it does suds-up some when enough dosage is used to be effective, but having moderately-hard well water helps with the rinsing aspect.  Oversudsing can be a problem in the F&P during Eco Active so I typically use about half the dosage at the start, add the rest either partway through Eco Active or at the agitated wash fill.  I don't use it in the Calypso or Neppy TL although sudsing can be reduced with careful dosing.
