Hi everyone, I am reaching out to the Frigidaire experts here. I have a 1978 (I think) WC-7B or WC-7G (the model tag only says WC-7). I am not very familiar with these machines as I rarely worked on them when I was with working with my uncle. In any case I recently replaced the jet cone (it had cracked badly) with a new used one. While I had it out I inspected the rubber diaphragm, support collar, and the bellows. All looked great w/minor lint/dirt accumulation. I reassembled everything and correctly tightened the agitator lock nut using a torque wrench. Everything works, but I now have a really bad knocking sound during normal agitation (no knock on gentle). Based on the service lit I am going to check the agitate wheel and agitate arm. My question is how to remove the flexible ball coupler from the agitator shaft. The one figure shows a channel lock on the flexible coupler. Do you just unscrew it? Or is it pulled out? Is the thread left or right handed? Pics of the machine, and the illustration are below.
