May I ask you a/c guys your opinion on these units. I, recently purchased for 45.00 a 8000 btu Haier window a/c. It retailed for 169.00. I am saving in the box till next Spring. Anyone out there have this machine and how has it done for you?

I don't have one but I know that's a made-in-China brand so it's anybody's guess as to how it will perform and hold up over time. You might want to put it through its paces now to make sure works OK in case the warranty will be expiring before you decide to install it.
I had one it was also a 8000Btu unit.It lasted a Month then quit cause there was a leak somewhere and it shut off the presure switch.If you can take it back I would I got mine at Target and had no problem there.I finally ended up getting a Sharp Library quite model.They run good and I think are good machines just rember to take a Water hose and rinse off the Outside condensor coils twice a season.Alot of Folks forget about the outside coils they get cloged with dust,pollen,bugs,etc and the its very hard on the compressor and can begin to slug on ya.Which will ruin it very fast.This was about 4 years ago so they might have gotten better but I know the Sharp unit has a L.g. compressor in it.
