Ok, I know it's is it's 24 days away, but it's my favorite holiday and I couldn't wait any longer. What are everyone's plans, costume ideas ect. I have my costume bought and ready to go. I'm not going to tell you guys what it is, but I will say it is a very over the top TV character...I post pic's of my self the night I'm dressing up 10/29.
How about you guys?

I haven't been out on Halloween in over 15 years now. Living in the country I don't get any trick or treaters but when I lived in town I couldn't believe how many kids I used to get. I remember a couple of years I'd buy maybe 5 or 6 bags of 50 count assorted chocolate bars, maybe eat one whole bag myself but have hundreds to give away still and I'd be running out. I have no idea where all these kids came from because you never saw many in the neighborhood. I had thought it had sort of died off from all those poison candy, razor blade apples sort of things but it hasn't. I used to love Halloween as a kid getting all that candy and then we'd go to our school and they'd have scary movies and more candy. The best houses to hit were the ones that always had those little nickel bags of potato chips or fritos, or candy apples..The worst just gave you an apple and you'd groan.. LOL

Last day of the month for me...

Which means a 14+hour workday...
Dunno if I it will be a dressup day at work or not...

I haven't dressed up since 2003 (sort of "outgrown" the trick-or-treating thing like everybody else), so I'm pretty much standing by the door giving out the candy, which is fun as well. As far as being "out" on Halloween, you never know...;-)

I've also stocked up on bulk Halloween candy for "personal comsumption"...have about 4 large bags' worth in my nightstand!

Ugh. Halloween is just another end-of-month work day.

DADoES (who was *almost* a Halloween baby, and remembers the birthday where Mom got a neighbor [the one who had the Catalina washer that I could never peep in 'cause I got sussed-out every time by the idiot spin brake] to dress up as a witch and crash the party, which scared the khrap out of all the kids)

Halloween Horror!

Actually, I am planning to go as a can of Veg's new tasty treat (see thread 3553), and Veg will be an authentic Amana Radarange. Any takers for Barbara Hale? ;-)

My friends who usually have a halloween party at their house are going on a bear cruise. So, I'll probably hole up in my bedroom with lights off and not answer the door. What a scrooge I am.

My favorite Halloween memory is of around ten years ago. A bunch of friends and I stayed in the Anatole Hotel (posh) in Dallas and dressed up in glamor drag, and proceded to go out to the gay area of town. We were a bit shy about going through the lobby on our way out on the town, but little did we know that there was nothing to fear. Why, you ask? Well, that very same weekend, the annual Mary Kay Convention was being held, and the lobby was FULL of Mary Kay reps!! We completely blended in as we walked through the crowded lobby of made up Mary Kay gals, on our way outside to meet our awaiting taxis!!! It was a hoot!!!

LOL

Washinsheen, that story is too funny. I was about ten years ago that I did drag too. In my elementary school, Halloween was a big thing. The day of or the Friday before( if it fell on a weekend) we would have class in the morning then at lunchtime you would either go home or, change at school. Then the rest of the day was a huge party, ending with a parade around the school.
Anyway, in the sixth grade it was tradition for boys to dress like girls. That summer my mother was in a bridal party, and had a horrible periwinkle gown that she was never going to wear again. Since this was the start of my fat days, I fit into it perfectly ( not many sixth graders are a size 14) LOL . I looked great as Cinderella, sans the glass slippers.
This year is going to blow that way....

Halloween

has become more poppular than ever, especially among adults. Virtually everyplace I've worked at in the last few years has thrown a Halloween party. I read in an article that a lot of parents see it as quality time spent with their kids. Youmay have noticed that there is a much bigger selection of Halloween decorations now than in years past, almost rivaling Christmas.

Oh Veg, you think of everything!

Hey Freckles:

Ok, let's switch costumes! I make a better box than a, well-uhm, nevermind. ;-)

Venus - always in disguise

I was thinking of dressing up as a straight guy.

Somehow, going as Spotted Dick is more my speed.

Venus, you'd make a mahhhvelous Radarange.

Halloween gonna be fun this year!

I'll be going to the Halloween Parade in NYC. Despite the crowds, a good time is always had by all.
