Electric! From 1965 by the model number. Anyone know when Hamilton intro'd the "Holiday" design? The nuclear reactor peep-window would probably indicate this was one of the first years of this design, in later years they got much bigger - this is one from a 66 or 67 dryer.
It Does look brand new, especially inside. When the Hamiltons had the big windows (that i thought was very nice). CU always yapped about an expensive loss of heat... typical joy killers. alr2903
As best I can tell from my family-tree digging the last couple of days when this came up. Hamilton Manufacturing Company, Two Rivers, WI actually did make this machine in their factory simultaneously with the wider cabinet version we're all familiar with, then dubbed the "Heritage" dryer. Hamilton sourced washers from Norge until sometime in the mid-60's, but as you can see, by 1967, they were being sourced from Franklin but the both models of dryer remained and the Franklin dryer of this time was nothing like the Hamilton. Also around this time 68-69, there were Kelvinator machines sourced from Norge (18lb perf-basket washers) and then within a year or so were owned by White Sewing Machine Co which became White Consolidated Ind. Sometime in this 68-69-70 timeframe, Hamilton was also acquired by White and the Hamilton-made dryers were gone.
