Do you know what year? I would have bet that was '39 or so - it has that "we're trying to be streamlined, but the technology's still kinda clunky" look that so many products did back then.

If it's post-war it would have to be immediately afterwards. I would think that by 1946 or so the designers were working overtime to upgrade their products.

Most of their ranges used open coil top units and 3 heat switches until the early 50s!!!!Chromalox 5 heat units were optional!

BUT!!!
By the mid 50s Monarch had caught up!, Speed heat units, Color Lit Controls, Thermostatic units, a Griddle ETC, and by the 60s they introduced the first home convection oven!
