And it's the BIG one! FIVE-OH!! Congratats to Ron, and we had a little surprize party for him yesterday. Bobby, Matt, Mary Jane and I were waiting to pounce once Rich and Tim-Shawn brought Ron back from thrifting in nearby Worcester.

But she also brought a serious gift. How'd that get in there? Our cousin Carol was too under the weather to attend, but sent brownies and scratch tickets for Ron too!

And the presentation of the WAY gay cake... pank frosting and all!

And I don't know how, but other than me, Tim-Shawn escaped the lens!

Another great time, and Ron was a good sport as usual.

Note to Bobby--- Mary Jane called and we're going to the Chinese Buffet tonight!!!

Glad that you had such a fun birthday Ron!! May the year ahead be a great one for you. Terry

Happy Birthday Ron! (It's official today)
Loads of fun, as usual.
Chuck: Mary Jane isn't going to put another buffet out of business, is she? Oy! :-)

Ideal Food Center

I recall that Ideal Food Center being the coolest toy after my imported" toy mixers I received as a kid growing up. I though it was so neat to have toy motorized appliances. I dreamed of being a chef, wearing a chef's coat & poofy cotton hat. One model that I had was a blender styled after the Osterizer blender. I recall the Ideal Food center having recipes for puddings and ice cream. The directions for use were illustrated and described in detail. The device in the middle of the tray is an ice cream maker. It worked much like the adult Nutone Kitchen center. The dial in front is a timer, not a speed selector as would be expected. This device utilized a permanent magnet dc motor. Batteries were mounted under the "tray." Seeing that toy sure brought back memories for me.
