Anyone posting there xmas lights or any other holiday lights this season ? I still can't seem to take a good "night/dark" photo with no flash on a dig cam. Anyways, I have two of these vintage 7-light "staggered" height candoliers. I love these things. Happy Holidays to all and there respective others and families.

another shot

shows a bit better with flash. These are "flame" shaped bulbs that are red at the base and fade to orange then gold at the tip.

I just finished decorating the tree and will get a pic of it later this evening. We found our boxes of decorations but it was all too much. Way too many lights etc so I pared it down that way I'll be able to take it down all that much quicker.

Oooh, I LIKE those candoliers!

If I could find something like that, I'd go back to having them up....

Blow up dolls on people front Lawns

There aren't many christmas lights up around here...But alot of thos inflateable Christmas decorations every place... I used to like them, but now find them repulsave, esp. the huge over grown carousel with the snow...
ALthough here's one of my favs

There not Blow Dolls like that BTW..Thats what i call them... There inflatable out door christmas decroations

Here's my tree

I lack the patience to spend alot of time decorating and this is the result..Mind you like I said above we probably had triple the amount of lights and decorations to go on this thing. There's 280 lights on it now but they're all white.. I kinda like the colored ones better but not going to undo it now just to put them on.. LOL This is not a Martha Stewart Living type of house..
Ugg now I just looked at it again before posting and it looks sorta awful...hahaha

Just went outside, it's dark, and took a pic of the house lights but the picture came out totally black..then I pushed the "smart fix" button on my program and this is what I got..

I took this picture with my Olympus D490 digital camera and accidentally used the flash - it turned out great. I usually do not use the flash, but then the pic turns out with the lights over exposed and the colors washed out. I'll use flash from now on.

Here's our Christmas 'display' in the front yard...it's a lot brighter than it looks and the pictures don't do it any justice. Finally, after a few years of just stringing some lights around the house (maybe the Santa setup with the spotlight as well) and trees, we actually went ahead and put a little effort into it this time. After this, I have to say that we're one of the brightest houses on our street!

We were one of the "honorable mentions" back in either '99 or '00 for the light judging contest with a similar arrangement, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Charlie Brown's tree

...on a plant cube behind the couch!
and so stragecially placed so nothing can go under it!
My former roomate also walked off with my star for the top, so its really not even finished

Beautiful, just beautiful everyone. Back in my old Italian neighborhood in New Yawk, we used to kidnap baby Jesus from the nativity scenes and hold him for ransom. Such little hoods we were.....ah, the good old days.

Decorations

I love all of the pictures. There are some areas around here that are quite "creative". When you go out into the far hollows here in the mountains, you can find junk cars decorated, trash cans, fences, birdbaths, toolsheds and a host of other things. Kind of cool actually. To each his own, I suppose.

I chucked the artificial tree last year - 8 years was enough for one tree. It was a pretty one though, 7 ft. tall with 1300 lights - it was like a space heater in the living room.

Here is our real fir for '06. I took this as we finished the lights, before decorating. The tree-topper is a vintage 50's flashing "star" - very fun!

I'll show you mine since you showed me yours......

We switched to all LED on the tree this year and it makes a HUGE difference. I used to use 500+ lights on about 8 to 10 strings. This time it's 4 strings of 50 and that's it!

My pic is too big for the site and I have no idea how to resize it so I put it on my photo blog, sorry!

Heather,
Usualy what i do is save them to my desktop, right click on the picture and scroll down to the "Send To" option..I hit send to mail reciepent, check yes to the resize box and when the otulook express window pops up, i click and drag the picture back to the desk top. I then re-save it as the smaller size and voila!

I am sure there are better ways to do this, but this is what i was taught..

Nice tree!
