Tonight we're going to a fabulous New Years Eve party so I made a my favorite pie, my 1956 White Christmas Chiffon Pie. I use the recipe from my 1956 Betty Crocker Cookbook, I mixed the pie dough in a 1956 Pyrex Green Bowl, I baked the pie shell in my 1956 GE Range, I made the custard on my 1956 GE Stovetop, I whipped the egg whites and made the whipped cream using my 1956 Sunbeam Mixmaster and finally I cleaned up using my 1956 Frigidaire Spraytube Dishwasher.

Happy New Year 1957 everyone!

I remember you talking about that pie when we were there Robert, hope that you will take a picture of it when it is done. I know that it will be delicious. A safe and Happy New Year to all as well. Terry

1956 pie turning to the year 1957 MMMMMMMMMNNNN!!

We're going to a hockey game tonight, then to a New Years Eve party.....But please Robert...Save us a couple pieces of that White Christmas Chiffon pie!! Be right over! LOL!!

Happy New Year to all!

Little Fred and Joe are on their way down from Milwaukee, and we're meeting Fred Nelson for dinner at a place called "The Barn of Barrington"
Never done the fancy restaurant for New Years so this will be something different.

Happy 2006 to everyone, be safe tonight, and may all of your dreams come true in the New Year!
Jeff

Jack would like to add a WOOF to that too.

How about some of that pie for 1956's cutest baby!!! none other than me!!! We're going out tomorrow for our 23rd or is it 24th anniversary dinner, that is if we're on speaking terms.. LOL

Now wait a minute Pete......

I thought I was 1956's cutest baby! Can we share the title? We will be home to celebrate with some fireworks and leave the midnight driving to the amateurs! LOL

YUMMERS Robert! White Christmas Pie!!! I found the recipe in my 1950 Betty Crocker cookbook! With all of that whippped cream, egg whites, and coconut, it must be a perennial favourite! Do you think anyone would mind if I cooked it on a 1959 stove? ;-)

A very Happy New Year to all of you! Stay safe and have a happy, healthy, prosperous, and sudsy 2006!

Venus :-)

Happy New Year guys (and gals)!!!! I hope 2006 is a year of EXCELLENT new appliance finds, including that ever-elusive Apex!!

Pete, Mom's upcoming birthday is April 25, and she shares (with many others) the year 1956 (dodging slap #1). I'm curious as to what her sign is as well...(dodging slap #2)!!

I keep telling her she needs to include her birthday in her profile, to no avail. ;-)

Robert - please share the recipe with us. That pie sounds perfectly dreamy. On December 23, I hosted a Christmas Dinner for all my friends and I know they would have loved this. After all, they all loved their copy of the very pink "Miss Mississippi Cooks"....loaded with pics of the gals, reminiscences and helpful beauty and pageant tips.....

My best wishes to all for a prosperous and healthy New Year.

The pie--

is in the archives from 2004/5, along with my shortbread recipe, I forget the thread number, but it's called something like "Holiday Recipes."
(Many other goooood recipes are in the thread, as well.)

I had a very nice New Year's Eve- went to a woman friend's house. We watched two movies, had wings and pizza, and a fireplace fire.

Health, happiness, and prosperity, whatever year you're in!

Love and laughter,

Lawrence/Maytagbear

Burp - an Exquisit Climax to all those Festive Dinners We Th

Sorry everyone, I read this too late to take a picture of the pie (Burp--Belch, oh excuse me), but here is the delicious recipe. I use a little less almond and at least 1 teaspoon of vanilla + a drop or two more to enhance the vanilla flavor since I love it so much and I NEVER put in the coconut.

Thanks so much for posting the recipe Robert. It sounds delicious. Greg and Skyler gave me the cutest recipe box for Christmas. It is a minature version of the Westinghouse Imperial 40 Speed Electric Range. My grandmother had this same recipe box and now I have one. This recipe will be filled away safely in it. Terry

YAY - Maybe a Real Winter This Year to go with the Pie!

Oh one trick in making this White Christmas Pie extra delicious is it really helps to look out the window and see a snow covered city like this morning, our 32nd day of snow cover since Dec 1st.

Happy January everyone, my most favorite months of the year, October is also high on my list.

*SIGH*

What a picture perfect view, even with the modern cars and suvs in it.
All we have here now is dead looking grass! Had several days of rain, which melted our snow away. ):

Yep, canned green beans generally bear as much resemblance to the fresh, or even frozen, original as a White-Westinghouse Frigidaire resembles a GM model.

Still, you have to admit, it's got that kid excited.
